Millie wants to know what you like most about our blog. She is driving me nuts trying to make me post this post. So here it is. I also tried to see what your favorite dog was but Millie didn't feel so good about it for some reason. Any ways, tell us what you like most about our blog. Millie won't be offended if you didn't say that she was the best in the blog.

In book club we are reading Hatchet by Gary Paulson and so I checked out a book My Life In Dog Years. His first dog was named Snowball and saved his life. Gary was walking with Snowball barefoot when he saw a ribbon on the ground. At least he thought it was. Gary bent down to pick it up when it moved. It was a snake and a venomous one. The snake was in striking position and was about to strike when out of nowhere Snowball jumped out and grabbed the snake with it's mouth and shook it then dropped it on the ground, then continued walking. Gary was so shocked he just stood there. Snowball looked back at him and regaining control he followed. Two and a half years later Snowball passed away. Gary Paulson misses her so much he felt as if she died yesterday. There are some people who don't have dogs around to be with them and Gary Paulson was lucky to get Snowball.

Yesterday, we found a cheaper place to get Millie's nails cut. Biscuit goes there to get his nails cut and it only costs $5 to get their nails cut. And the person running the store is in high school. I'm just happy we aren't setting fire to 20 bucks. That would be really unfortunate. Finally, a reasonable amount to pay to get a dogs nails cut.

Today we decided to cut Millie's nails because we would have to pay $20 to get them trimmed by a pro. First me and my mom got on to the computer and looked on youtube on how to trim dog nails. We learned not to cut too far or else it could cut a blood vessel. After watching the video we tried to trim Millie's nail's. It took us a long time just to do one and we had to cut 20 of them. I was calming the dog down Millie while mom trimmed. We eventually gave up because Millie kept getting distracted by my sisters prizes from the snofest we had the day before. So we just put $20 dollars in flames because Millie was distracted by $2 items.

Today I was practicing Hot Cross Buns on my recorder when Millie jumped up on me. Without her long nails this would've been fine. But she has long nails, and I got scratched pretty badly. And whenever we come home Millie jumps on us. You guys who have cats, I'm finally feeling what it's like to get scratched by one. Until Millie get's her nails cut I should scratch at my skin so when I come home I'm prepared. Who knows what would happen if I'm not. "OOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!! Millie it's really time to get your nails cut!"

In March I and my family are going to Florida for spring break. And Millie can't come so she has to go over to my great aunt's house. And Millie still loves to chew on things, especially when she get's away with it. And my great aunt's tables are low where Millie could get stuff, a bird feeder in the back yard, and one floor that Millie would have to pull stuff on the ground to chew on where the other floors things to chew on would right on the floor. I hope Millie doesn't cause as much trouble as I think. But 2 years ago when we went to Florida we had to leave Tira at their house and at night my great aunt tripped over Tira and she broke a bone. So let's hope Millie doesn't sleep right in front of the bed and sleep in her kennel instead. I see the future... and it's better than what happened when Tira stayed at my great aunt's house.

Millie sometimes makes other puppy friends at the dog park... and sometimes gets trampled by a Mastiff. The only time millie has really been hurt was when she had a head on collision with another Golden Retriever. Millie most likes to hang out with the other puppies or another dog her size. Most of the times I've been to the dog park, Millie liked to have last minute wrestles with a German Shepard named Luna. We had to teach Millie the come command before we went to the dog park because theres a lake that Millie really want's to go in. And it's really muddy. And shallow so Millie could probably go to the other side, where we would not get her. But I don't think Millie would do that...

Here are some dog jokes. 1.I bought a dog the other day. I named him Stay. It's fun to call him. "Come here, Stay! Come here, Stay!" He went insane. Now he just ignores me and keeps typing. He's an East German Shepherd. Millie Likes this one because it makes fun of another breed. 2.I got a new dog. He's a paranoid retriever. He brings back everything because he's not sure what I threw him. Millie doesn't like this one because she's a Retriever. 3.I put contact lenses in my dog's eyes. They had little pictures of cats on them. Then I took one out and he ran around in circles. 4.What does a dog do on his day off? He can't lie around - that's his job. Millie doesn't like this one because she LIKES to lie around.

Tira was a very good dog. She was a Golden Retriever/ Irish Setter mix. She was the runt of her family, same with Millie, and was VERY hyper. She also was very fast. She would fetch any ball you throw for her, even if it went into a river with strong currents. Her favorite place to be was our cabin in Aitkin, Minnesota. There was a lake that she tried to catch fish in. She never did. I feel bad for the neighbors dog though because when it tried to fish the fish were all under her. The neighbors dog's name is jessie. Tira died last summer. There was a tumor in her stomach, starving her. We didn't wan't her to die in pain so we put her to sleep. Her last day at the cabin was on the 4th of July. I hope she enjoyed her last day there. In Tira's early years she jumped off a cliff and broke 2 ribs Please learn from her mistakes. Do not jump off cliffs. But actually I'm going to do that, because I'm curious. Be back soon.

Millie chews on everything she can get her paws on. But sometimes she's took things that are really valuable like the camera she once stole. She also stole one of my toys I had since I was small and made a tiny hole in the back of it. Not quite as valuable as the camera but it's important to me! Let's see she also tried to chew on my wand, but when we saw she couldn't do any real damage we named Millie, Milliemort after the villain Voldemort in the Harry Potter series. I think thats all, wait. Millie just stole the mouse to the computer. Gotta go retrieve it. Millie: Hi! I'm Millie! I snuck in here while Asher went to retrieve the mouse. Don't listen to any of this junk he tells you!

If you take a card board box by Millie, it would scare her out of her skin. And if you do it enough she might attack. ( she still has puppy teeth.) Same thing with fireworks. If you have a dog that is scared of things like loud noises you might want to get a dog vest that keeps the dog calm. Any ways the cardboard box does have its uses. We don't let Millie upstairs and it's easy for her to just walk up there so we put a cardboard cut out by the stairs and Millie will stay far away from the stairs. We also don't wan't Millie going down in the basement but we don't need to put up any cardboard stuff, because she also scared of the basement! Oh wait, Millie wants to say something. Millie: I'm also afraid of Asher humiliating me on the internet.

Here are some fun Facts by Millie. 1. The golden Retriever is the 4th most popular dog in the U.S.A. 2. They enjoy pleasing their masters. 3. The average weight for a full grown Golden is 50 through 75 pounds. 4. The average dog lives to 12 years of age. ( my cousins dog lived to 15 years of age.) 5. They have a natural love of humans. 6. They grow to nearly 2 feet in hight. 7. Golden Retrievers have been known to take care of kittens! 8. Each human year is 7 in dog years. 9. Millie is the best dog ever. (millie wrote that)
Before I posted this I had to retrieve a glove from Millie's mouth. If I said millie was a perfect dog that is untrue. She's a good dog but has bad habits of chewing on things she shouldn't. If you come to my house you would need to put your boots on the bench so Millie can't get them. She is sorta like a baby. She wants to put everything in her mouth. Sorry- I gotta go. Millie just stole my sweater.
On Super bowl Sunday, 3 hours before the Super Bowl was on, my dad turned on the puppy bowl for Millie to watch. She instantly dropped the toy she was chewing on and gave her full attention to the T.V. For at least 1.5 hours she sat staring at the T.V. screen. Eventually after the second period she lost interest. NOTICE: She will also watch the movie Up if you were kind enough to turn it on for her.

Millie has been taught many useful "tricks". She knows how to shake your hand and will drop when she has your toy. ( It might already be to late)She will sit and lay. And of course she will come. Now she only knows these tricks because of her very awesome owners (me.). Here are 6 tricks for a dog to master 1. The sit command 2. Waiting 3.The down command 4. Drop command 5. The come command 6. Walk by your side
